In the Bible there are many metaphors for the church. None better describes what Jesus had in mind when He brought the church into existence than “family”. Because everyone needs a family, the Bible says, “God puts the lonely into families”.
The family at Shady Grove is comprised of people from varying backgrounds and cultures. We all have this in common; our deep and abiding relationship with Jesus as savior and friend.
Everyone should be able to count on the family being a safe and caring place. It won’t always be a place without conflict but we are all committed to resolving them with love and respect for each other in a spirit of humility.
For sure, we are dedicated to the personal , spiritual, development of every member of the family. Because we are excited for every believer to express their faith in their own place of influence; pastors and elders, apostles, prophets, evangelists and teachers work tirelessly to equip everyone in their faith journey.
Nothing sets Shady Grove Church apart from other churches more than our pursuit to know Him and passionately worship Him. We engage wholeheartedly in our mission to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus to take the Good News of forgiveness and abundant life to every person “ around the corner and around the world”. Only worship can free us from the creation of unneeded structure and organization. Our hearts are undivided in our obedience to God.
Everything we do here at Shady Grove Church revolve around two things. PASSION FOR GOD, COMPASSION FOR PEOPLE. We have no desire to just have a service. We do not meet just to meet. We meet in all of our services for one thing. WE WANT TO ENCOUNTER GOD. When you have a true encounter with the God of the universe, you are never the same again. When a person encounters God their lives are changed, their families lives are changed and their communities are changed. So what will you experience in our services? YOU WILL ENCOUNTER THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
Our vision is to bring children to Jesus and see Him impact their lives, families and generation. We want every child to encounter God’s presence, feel His love and ours, grow in their ability to fulfill God’s purpose for their life and to have fun with us in the process.
Childcare opens for newborns through 4 year olds at 9:30 a.m. Children’s ministry for K-6th graders begins usually just after worship.
Our children are informally dismissed from the auditorium through the upper north auditorium exit where they will be met and escorted to “The Watering Hole” (our western themed children’s church ministry area) and our kindergarten room.
Lit, the student ministries of Shady Grove Church exists to ESTABLISH a generation in relationship with Jesus and each other, to EQUIP them in the hope of their calling and to EXHIBIT the love of God to the world. Lit meets on Wednesday nights at 7pm and is for 7th through 12th graders.
