Missions

What is our Mission?

Matthew 28:18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Reaching Out to our Sphere of Influence

Regardless of where we work or with whom we socialize, God has placed each one of us in positions of influence to the world around us. This is what “missions” is all about. By being sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit within us, in the every day circumstances of life, we will recognize the opportunity to touch the lives of those around us through acts of kindness and words of hope. Our goal is to transform society. You may be called as a business leader, housewife or as a student. By working together and dedicating our prayers, finances, time and talents we will bring the Kingdom of God here on earth.

Reaching Out to our Local Communities

Jesus modeled to us His example by caring for those who were hurt and bruised, the poor and needy, healing the sick and diseased and freeing those who were enslaved by evil demonic powers.

Shady Grove Church has pioneered ministries like People that Care (PTC) where you may serve locally. Last year alone, PTC served 80,000 persons through counseling, food, clothing and financial assistance for housing and utilities. In addition, another 80,000 persons were served by PTC providing food to other local churches and ministries that focus on meeting the needs of the poor.

Kairos is another local ministry of Shady Grove that reaches out to those incarcerated, remembering Jesus’ words to remember those in prison. Other SGC ministries are involved in street witnessing, visiting and praying for the sick, recovery homes and more.

Reaching Out To Our World

Shady Grove Church currently is supporting 64 workers in over 25 nations. The majority of those were trained and sent from SGC. They serve as Bible translators, church planters, lead orphanages, develop agriculture in poverty stricken nations, evangelize among unreached peoples, and more.
